Summer is almost here, and we’re feeling inspired to open the windows, invite friends over, and update our home with a fresh new colour palette.
For inspiration, look no further than the joyous Wonder palette – one of three palettes from the Dulux Colour Forecast 2022. Colours in this uplifting and vibrant palette range from light pastels to playful hues of cornflower blue, lilac, lemon, green quartz, and rose gold.
To show you how to use these colours at home, Dulux trend forecaster and stylist Bree Leech has used the Wonder palette to update a ‘90s family home in Melbourne.
Dulux Wash&Wear in Equatorial Forest was chosen as the hero living room wall colour, providing an earthy backdrop to the otherwise playful pastel decor. ‘The leafy, warm green helps ground us, while the top third of the wall and ceiling painted in Dulux Vivid White™, and softer nature inspired hues in the furniture and decor pieces, provide a light summery mood,’ Bree says.
The calming Dulux Harmonious was used for the bedroom walls, alongside Dulux Vivid White™ on the trims and ceiling.
In the dining area, a combination of Dulux Celery Green on the walls and Dulux Pinkham on trims showcases how experimenting with colour and veering from ‘traditional’ placements can create something strikingly unique. ‘Who says trims have to be white?’ Bree says. ‘Pinkham and Celery Green are a flawless and refreshing summer colour combination and work well in many settings.’
Last but not least, Dulux Sassy features in the home study/office nook to add warmth and a fun, joyful feel.
Aside from updating the wall colours, Bree has also styled this house with a vibrant, summery collection of furniture and homewares – flower shaped tables, layers of patterned cushions, and gorgeous artworks. Even some of the decor pieces have been painted, such as the drinks trolley painted in Dulux Duramax Pax!
Want to upgrade your space this summer? Dulux is giving away 20 litres of paint to one lucky TDF reader, PLUS a framed original artwork valued at $3500 from one of our favourite artists and designers, Rachel Castle! Enter below.
